On Vanity
Posted By Daisy on December 18, 2010
Just a note to share that I am actually hiding from my own son right now to give me time to beautify (and to write about it). Why do I need extra time for extra warpaint this morning? Because the BEAR has a date. And I must look good to impress this three-year-old darling, her tiny sibling and her parents when they arrive in a few hours.
Surely I am not the only one that does this? The gal pal’s mom has seen me in my natural harried morning state — sweats, wet hair (assuming I actually got a shower in) and warpaint free — multiple times now at morning drop-off. Who exactly do I think I am fooling?

I think that’s the opposite of vanity.

It’s not vanity. It’s called “remembering how gorgeous you were in Ye Olde days.” it does more good than harm, trust me.
Now go get all purty and nice-smelling, and flirt with yourself on every reflecting surface!
